The Sustainable Development Goals provide an accessible framework for creating sustainable solutions in our communities and in the world. Neeraja Havaligi is the Executive Director of the Greater Portland Sustainability Education Network (GPSEN), which is a Regional Center of Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development through United Nations University. She is also a courtesy faculty, teaches at Saturday Academy, and participates in a variety of boards and organizations that focus on sustainability. She will share the potential for SDGs to enhance our sustainability education work in Portland. Through the SDGs, we can understand a framework for understanding global challenges from an international perspective and zoom out from US-centric sustainability models. After the event, participants will be welcome to join us for service in the Smith Garden.
