Diversion Design-Build: The Pickathon Treeline Stage from 2014 to 2019

Portland State of Mind
Shattuck Hall, Second Floor
Friday, Oct 11, 2019 at 4:00 PM (PT)

Join the School of Architecture for an exhibition looking back at the Diversion Design-Build Studios led by Professor Clive Knights and Associate Professor Travis Bell over the last six years, which resulted in six innovative, provocative Treeline Stages at the annual Pickathon music festival.

The exhibition will be launched with a talk at the school's weekly Fridays@4 presentation on Friday, October 11 at 4pm in Shattuck Hall Annex to share the design team's creative process and logistical challenges of designing and constructing this innovative structure at the 2019 Pickathon music festival. This year's Treeline Stage, made from 160 apple harvesting bins, was featured in ArchDaily and Architects' Newspaper.
